volunteer

Part of what makes JI so special is it’s family-like environment. One way we achieve this is by working together. Volunteering is a way of life at JI. We depend on others to lend a helping hand to help equip our students. Colossians 3:23-24 says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

If you have a special talent or professional skill, we would love for you to use your gifts in service for our JI community.

prayer

When you were a student at John Ireland, you were genuinely loved and cared for by our community of caring staff, teachers and parents. We continue to lift our alumni in prayer to the Lord because once a JI student, you remain in our heart and school family forever. Through Peter, we get a promise of God being attentive to our prayers. He is listening to the supplications and requests we make for the people we care about.

“For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light” (Colossians 1: 9-12).

As alumni, you can make a difference for our current students, joining us in prayer that we know and desire them to be rooted in Christ Jesus.

Celebrating impact. Remembering stories.

"I am so grateful to have attended JI during my elementary school years! I have many fond memories of my incredible teachers and classmates who became my first friends. I loved the small, tight knit community and feel lucky to have attended a school that laid a spiritual foundation that encouraged me to keep exploring my faith after JI. John Ireland felt like a safe place to grow in integrity, work ethic, and a commitment to service. I am especially grateful to the teachers/staff that poured so much into making JI a welcoming place to learn and grow!"

- Sarah Borgmeier

"John Ireland gave me the educational and spiritual foundation that allowed me to grow into the person I am today. I am so grateful to JI for the community I formed because I’m still friends with two women that I met at JI in kindergarten, and I still see my elementary school teachers, janitor, and librarian at the Church of Saint Peter. John Ireland gave me the formation I needed when I was young to build a relationship with Jesus Christ that has since led me to seek out Catholic community and the Sacraments in high school, college and beyond."
